You did well this 2018.
You have conquered a whole year of ups and downs, success and failures, and mistakes and lessons. You have become a friend, a lover, a parent, a listener. You did all you can for people to be happy. You disregarded all your choices and opinions just so others can feel better about themselves. You have sacrificed your time for your loved ones just so they won’t feel forgotten, and at the same time, they won’t forget you.
And for that, you are strong.
Congratulations for surviving all those sleepless nights studying for your exams, and all the OTs you took to improve an output that is already great just to receive some sort of praise that you more than deserve. Congratulations for trying to wake up every single day which are either scary because it’s unpredictable or tiring because you’re stuck in a routine.
You did your best and that is all that matters.
But now, it’s 2019 and it’s time to choose yourself.
Trust your choices and your instincts—you know what’s best for you so listen to yourself.
Go forward with what makes you happy, not what makes others happy—you’ve done enough of that the past year.
Go out, pamper yourself, and do all the things you have wanted the past year but can’t. There are no more excuses now because this year is all yours.
I don’t want you to start a NEW you. I want you to start a BETTER you… for you.
Make yourself a priority this time.
